Spay and Neuter Clinic Board

Diane Bentz, R.V.T., President

A graduate of Pierce College and Cal State Northridge, Ms. Bentz completed the Veterinary Technician Program, received a degree in Animal Science and Sociology and then passed the state board examination to become a licensed Registered Veterinary Technician. Following two and a half years working for Ventura County Animal Services, Ms. Bentz spent 15 years working at a Veterinary Clinic in Simi Valley. She was selected as the 2004 California Veterinary Medical Association RVT of the Year in Private Practice. In 2009 Ms. Bentz opened the Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic in Simi Valley, and in 2020 she opened a second clinic in Porterville, CA. 

Paula Temme, Vice President

Ms. Temme is a Simi Valley resident.  she had a successful career in show business and then transitioned to teaching dance.  She owned and operated her own dance studios Simi Valley and Burbank, and loves teaching children.  Since 2004, she has presented Correct Pet Care classes to over 5,000 students at 19 elementary schools, as well as the YMCA after school programs, Girl Scouts, and Camp Keystone's summer program.

Cathy Herring Secretary

Cathy is a financial services professional with more than 30 years of broad-based experience in

the financial services/payments industry. She spent 11 years working at Intuit where she led

operational teams of up to 70 employees, managed several large-scale projects, implemented

incentive programs, and identified and implemented programs to reduce expenses by several

million dollars annually. In her current position, Cathy is responsible for managing card scheme

regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with

family and friends and daily walks with her dog.

Steve Bentz, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Bentz has spent more than 35 years in the insurance industry.  With a distinguished career spanning multiple organizations, Steve brings extensive leadership and technical experience in claims and risk management to our nonprofit.  Steve is a dedicated husband and father of two adult children. 

Joyce Peters, Advisor at Large

Ms. Peters worked for over 30 years in the credit card services industry with broad based experience in sales management, revenue generation and maintenance of client relationships. She managed a merchant portfolio with an annual volume of $4 billion. She managed an operational staff, developing service programs for clients.
